To be filled with the fullness of God

Prayer for Spiritual Strength

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Abba Father,

As You fill us with Your love; as You make known to us the extreme depth of that love, the limitless width, the unreachable heights, the immense weight, may we be rooted and grounded in that awe inspiring love.  May we KNOW that love; a love that is deeper and richer, more vast than our finite minds can explore the extent of.  As we meditate upon and consider that insanely awesome love, may it fill and consume us!  May we be filled with the fullness of YOU.  May Your presence satisfy us wholly.  May Your strength keep us.  May Your grace protect us.  May Your word delight us.  May Your holiness stun and silence us.  May Your justice give us courage.  May Your might and glory instill both reverence and fear so that before the presence of all mighty God we both quake in terror and at the same moment, find stillness in comfort and security.  

Abba, help us to live each moment of each day OUT OF YOUR FULLNESS.  May we recognize the futility and fragility of our own might and efforts when compared with yours.  May we empty ourselves of self so that we can be filled FULLY with You incredible presence!  How amazing it is that you have placed Your Spirit with in us.  Only let us let go of ourselves and fully surrender to Your power, Your presence and be fully filled with the Spirit!  

Help us to recognize the immense joy of surrender and find deep satisfaction and peace in letting go and being filled with You.  Let us not cling to and grasp after the lesser thing of self.  Give us understanding and fill us with You.  We surrender, Abba, we surrender to You.  Fill us.  Consume us!  Be glorified in us!
