The Wonder of Eternity
The God-Given Task
9 What gain has the worker from his toil? 10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. 12 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; 13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man.
14 I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. 15 That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.

Abba,
Truly, what a wonder you are! Words cannot express! Eternity has been put into our hearts! We were made for something more than this temporal life. We were made with eternity in mind! We were made for you! Yet, though we were made for eternity, still you elude our understanding. Though we endure forever, your eternality is greater; spanning from eternity past to eternity future. Though we have eternity placed in our hearts and share in at least an aspect of Your eternal nature, ours is but a shadow the vastness that is You and it defies our understanding to fully grasp! What a wonder! What a marvel!
AND, add to this, the reality that what you have purposed is completed and fulfilled. “…whatever God does endures forever….that which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been…” Your purpose IS fulfilled already. Your plans cannot be thwarted, for You, outside of time have already completed it! For you, time is irrelevant. For you, past, present, and future are one! Your perfect plan is already accomplished, though for us much is still yet to be. Our minds break under such pressure to comprehend! Truly, the vastness of your eternality is lost upon our limited and finite minds. We wonder and worship in the presence of one so glorious to evade understanding! What a wonder you are!
We love you!
Amen
