Grace is violent

Warrior strong

Opposing all wrong

Grace doesn’t quit or relent

Grace is a mighty champion

Battling for truth and life

Bringing good from blessing and strife

In total victory it does reign

Grace is meek and strong

Fighting bold and fierce

And though it at times may pierce

It never does any wrong

Contending only for that which is good

It will battle and fight

To achieve a beautiful eternal sight

All opposing forces successfully withstood

Grace is violent

Eyes always on the end

For righteousness it does contend

In all it does, always triumphant

Undeterred, undistracted, purposeful

It sets its course of action

Guided by the eternal King’s passion

To expose His glory so personal

Grace fights for us when we can’t

It fights when we should but won’t

When we don’t even know we ought

Grace battles, victory to grant

His glory is our great pursuit

Grace persistently awakens and reveals

Making ceaseless appeals

Bringing us to that divine truth

There is none greater to delight

There is none greater to satisfy

There is none greater to gratify

Than the King of Glory and Light

Utilizing even the hurt, trial, and pain

Resolutely and unapologetically it fights

A story of redemption and blessing it writes

Bringing joy from a cloud of storm and rain

Grace fights, undefeated

Always accomplishing its purpose

Never exposed as worthless

It’s resources never depleted

The violence of grace is real

But never should we fear

Though it be ever near

For it’s only intent is to bless and heal

Yes, grace may be violent

It may be vicious and fierce

But, alas, in it’s wake, only good upon good appears

Rising from all, it is ever and always triumphant!

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. 17 For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. 20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Spiritual Blessings in Christ

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
