Abba,

Glory.  Glorify.

A putting of your character on display for all to see.

Not MAKING you glorious; that would be impossible.  You are already that.  We cannot add to or take away from your glory.

Glorifying you is simply about putting your character, your person on display for all to see.

This is our task.  Our purpose.  Our high calling.  This is our life goal.  Our highest ambition.  To put you on display.

How do we do this?  How do we put you on display?

We repent of our sin.  We turn away.  We confess our guilt.  We agree of its wrongness.  We change our mind and we surrender to you.  We trust your Son’s act on the cross as our sole saving grace.

This act of salvation is the highest display of your character and person.  There can be no greater act or display for the cost of the salvation was the highest possible.

Thus embracing the gift….thus repentance is THE act of displaying your character.

Likewise, so is the sharing of this good news…the calling of others to know and enjoy it too!

The more who come and are saved, the more your grace in salvation is magnified.

But there is more, Abba.  So much more.

  • Verbal and public thanksgiving and praise for your person.
  • Obedience to you, no matter the cost.
  • The fruit of the Spirit being displayed in our lives
  • Sacrificial service
  • Developing the same Christ like character and attributes as you
  • Enjoying you more than anything else in our lives
  • Living selflessly and humbly.

These and so many more ways put your character on display for all to see.  They glorify your name!

Our lives ought to be a living reflection of your glory!  Our lives should be a living display of YOU.

Abba, make the deep longings of our hearts to be the display of your character in any and all ways possible!

May the light of your glory be reflected in our person and action.

May the purpose of your heart resound in ours.

May the desire and intent of our longings be awash in the tidal wave of your glory!

And may the display of your character and person be ever our focus in all we do!
