Job 12:10 (ESV): 10 In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.

Isaiah 40:12 (ESV): 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?

How mighty is the hand

That holds life

That contains breath

How mighty is the hand

That holds the life of every living thing!

That contains the breath of every living thing!

These feeble hands of mine

Can barely contain

The merest of things

And nothing so precious

How mighty is the hand

That has measured the water

ALL the waters

In the hollow of his hand

How mighty is the hand

That has measured

The heavens

Yes, the vast, incomprehensible

Unmeasurable

Vastness of the heavens….

In it’s embrace

That has measured these

With the span OF his hand

How mighty is the hand

That can contain

This planetary orb’s dust

Within it’s grasp.

That can measure and weigh

The very towering mountain expanses

Within the embrace

Of it’s grasp

How mighty is the hand

That can do these things

How insignificant

Am I

In the presence

Of the one who possesses

These hands

Infinite in its might

Are these hands

Incontestable in its authority

Are these hands

Unique and incomparable

Are these hands

To think that I fail

To sit in wonder

That I fail

To stand in awe

That I fail

To fall in worship

Before such a one

To think that I dare

To contend with this one

Whose hands

FAR eclipse my own

Whose might

Is the very reason that I am

To think that

I fail to find

My ultimate delight and joy

My greatest security and comfort

My deepest peace

In the one who owns

These hands

There is none, Abba,

That can be compared to

Likened with

Or even set against you

You alone are almighty!

You alone are worthy!

You alone are glorious!

May I

May we

Ever stand, kneel, and fall

Before you

Before the might of your hands

In humble surrender

In joyous worship

In absolute trust

And find our greatest peace

In the embrace

Of these hands.
