Psalm 7:12–17 (ESV):  12  If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword;

he has bent and readied his bow;

 13  he has prepared for him his deadly weapons,

making his arrows fiery shafts.

 14  Behold, the wicked man conceives evil

and is pregnant with mischief

and gives birth to lies.

 15  He makes a pit, digging it out,

and falls into the hole that he has made.

 16  His mischief returns upon his own head,

and on his own skull his violence descends.

 17  I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,

and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.

Abba,

There is never any worry that injustice will reign.

There is never any worry that evil will go unpunished.

Your holiness ensure that.

“If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword…”

Psalm 7:12a

The delay in justice’s execution is grace.

An opportunity to repent.

When tempted to be frustrated or impatient with such delay, I would be wise to consider my own benefit from such detaining of grace.

Abba, you are just

But you are also patient

You desire and delight, not in wrath or retribution

Though you will not shy away from those

But rather, you delight in mercy and grace.

In that, there is GREAT reason to rejoice and worship!

“I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.”

Psalm 7:17

What would we be without your patience and forbearance?
