Psalm 11:7 (ESV):
7 For the Lord is righteous;
he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.

What draws a man’s gaze except that which he finds desirable?
What transfixes that gaze except that which a man loves and cherishes?
What does it say then that men do not gaze at God?
What does it say then that men’s eyes are drawn more to flesh than spirit?
What do we desire to look up, to behold most passionately?
What captures our hearts and desires most fiercely?
The upright will behold his face
The upright LONG to behold his face.
The gaze of the righteous is drawn to and transfixed by his face
Intense longing and deep satisfaction emanating forth
What draws a man’s gaze except that which he finds desirable?
What transfixes that gaze except that which a man loves and cherishes?
Upon what then, I ask, is my gaze transfixed?
Upon whom then, I inquire, are my passions inclined?
