Abba,
How long, YHWH, before You come back and put an end to this curse of sin?
How long before You come to put an end to the striving?
Our flesh wearies of longing for it instead of You.
Our flesh wearies of watching others battle it…and lose.
How long, YHWH, will You continue to subject us to it’s curse and presence?
So much guilt, shame, remorse, fear, and frustration exist. So much damage and failure remains.
How long, Abba? How long? Our hearts yearn for freedom from it all. Our hearts yearn for deliverance.
Forgive us for yielding to this body of death. Forgive us for chasing after it like foolish beggars who seek nothing more than the momentary pleasure and fix to satisfy a moment’s burning desire.
What foolishness it is! What fools we are! What a fools when we delight in it more than we delight in You!
We yearn for freedom, for deliverance! How long, O Lord, will You make us contend against it? How long must it persist?
In Your perfect timing, bring it to an end. In Your perfect will, bring Your plan to it’s fulfillment and culmination. In Your infinite wisdom, do what You will.
AND grant us the patience and joy to persevere to the end.
Grant us the strength to stand fast against the onslaught.
Grant us the wisdom to take refuge in You instead of attempting to battle in our own strength. May we battle upon our knees, faces prone to the ground before Your divine throne.
By Your might and will make us victorious and keep us for You and You only.
