Word of the day Poem

Levity – Lightness of mind, character, behavior;  Lack of appropriate seriousness or earnestness.

There is a levity of mind
that in obscurity does bind

Too light of an approach
Too glib when facing reproach

Too trifling of an attitude
Too little seriousness to exude

In puerile boyishness, trapped.
Full masculinity left untapped.

Content and happy in empty triviality
The lightness and silliness of boyish levity

But there is a call for more
Like the blaring bugle on a distant shore

To embrace earnest sobriety
To confront life with responsible propriety

To leave behind carefree levity
and be full man in bright longevity

So, son, leave behind the foolish notion
Of remaining a boy forever with his foppish commotion

Run along to the man you are
Burgeoning with full masculine repertoire

Leave behind the empty levity of mind
That entraps and darkly does bind

Leave behind the levity of youth
Taking full delight in masculinities truth

Delectation finds the one who does overcome
And embraces the man he is to become.
