Little One,

Your Life Matters
You are precious to Him!
He holds the breath of your days
He breathed life into you.

As you sleep in my arms
scrunching your face and shoulders
stretching in these early morning hours
please know, you are loved.

And I don’t mean
a  mere emotional reaction.
I mean you are loved
with a purposeful choice.

Your needs will be put above, first.
Your highest good
is being placed above.
You are being unselfishly prioritized.

Your Creator placed it
within our hearts to open our lives,
to take on the challenges,
to embrace the long term,

So that you might know
His eternal love.
So that you might know
His gracious care.

Your life matters
to Him.
You matter
to us.

Every life entrusted to us
is a priceless treasure.
Your turbulent beginning
does not diminish your worth.

As we love you,
receive it
and know
Your Creator cares.

Make it your life’s aim,
ever and always,
to seek after Him;
to pursue Him

Even as he
Has
Is
and always shall
pursue you.

Your life matters.
You are precious.
Never let anyone else
tell you otherwise.

So, sleep little one
comforted in the truth
that although you will have trouble,
nothing will stop His love for you.
