The stillness
always seems the hardest to find.
Even when the noise
and chaos of life doesn’t invade.

The stillness
will always be threatened
and hindered
by the commotion of the mind.
Satan’s tool – 
one of his greatest perhaps – 
is noise.
Busyness.
Distraction.

It robs us of the peace
we were meant to have
with you.

This separation
from life
is needed.
necessary.
Spiritually healthy.

We must retreat
to the silence,
the stillness.

For the sake
of spiritual sanity
we must.
Even Jesus did.

Daily.

Thank you for bringing
the stillness
to the chaotic
and messy soul.

Let it be restored here
in the stillness.
