2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), 2 Co 12:9.

Weariness whispers
into the clamor.

It shouts
into the silence.

Weariness has voice
that begs a hearing.

It speaks many things
pleading to be heard.

It speaks caution –
“Watch your cadence.”

“Slow your pace.”
“Take your Sabbath rest.”

Weariness warns.
Walls of limit – exposed.

But it also speaks
in ways you don’t expect.

Weariness raises the cry
of testimony.

It bears witness –
You’re still in the fight.

Surrender and resignation
have not claimed the day.

Stagnation and indecision
have not had sway.

Defeat has not overtaken –
Persistent faithfulness plods on.

Weariness declares –
“Though I am tired, I press on.”

So plod on
weary traveler

In the strength
of another.

For the worth
of another.

His strength shines,
when our flesh fails.

So, let weariness
have its voice.

For the praise
of Jesus we follow.

Weariness is a testimony – says I am still in the fight; I have not surrendered.

When I am most weary, Christ is most near.
