Bewildered, dazed, and confused
Pilate inquired with sincerity infused

Wonderingly, “What is truth?”
Like that of a naive youth

“I AM” truth came the reply
Jesus drawing the heart’s eye

But bound in darkness still
Dark’s power did coldly kill

Unwilling to look at Christ
Bound still to death’s dark heist

Eyes and heart veiled and blind
Ignorant in the self assured mind

Unable, and unwilling, to see
The Truth before him that sets free.
