Sound doctrine is necessary.
Love, true love, cannot exist without.
Loving untruth is idolatry or sentimentality.

To love rightly
which glorifies God brightly
Truth must be held uprightly
Sound doctrine grounds love
Like a fitted glove
Highlighting God above
Love does not exist
Where truth does not persist
Where verity misses the list
“Love” without truth
Is sentimentality’s youth
Idolatry’s sweet tooth
Fiction, not fact
Depth it does lack
Substance a mere artifact
Love in truth, though
Never ceases to grow
With the more you know
Sound doctrine grounds all
Letting love flourish tall
In authenticity’s grand hall
Love without veracity
Deceives with dishonesty
Lacking integrity’s capacity
Truth is necessary
To guard against arbitrary
To produce the extraordinary
To love truly
And worship duly
Seize truth surely
To love rightly
which glorifies God brightly
Truth must be held uprightly
Seized fiercely and tightly

Sound doctrine informs
True love’s norms
Protecting through life’s storms
Truth, not fiction
Comforts in affliction
And protects from dereliction
Truth must be guarded
Never discarded
Reverently regarded
Defend and protect
Cherish and respect
Truth’s every aspect
To sound doctrine cling
Letting it resoundingly ring
Leading you to Truth’s King
Authenticity’s worship depends
Not on cultural trends
But on Heaven’s high ends
Do not fall prey
To error’s say
Or idolatries sway
Make diligent defense
To erect truth’s protective fence
Defending with vigilance intense
Love truth always
Leading you to raise
Pure Godward praise.
To love rightly
which glorifies God brightly
Truth must be held uprightly
Seized fiercely and tightly
With joy, expressed sprightly
