Word of the Day Poem

Gibbous (JIB-us)
The moon or a planet  when it is seen with more than half but not all of the apparent disk illuminated.
Origin – gibbus – “hump.”  Adapted into Middle English to describe rounded, convex things
While it has been used to describe rounded body parts of humans and animals, such as the rounded back of a camel, it is most often used to describe a moon between half and full.

The cosmos above sparkles and shines,
Star-lighting the gloriously gibbous moon,
Highlighting its stupendously stalwart station –
An invention of God’s marvelous innovation.
The universe worships to heaven’s tune,
Revealing God’s infinitesimal designs.

All creation declares His invaluable worth,
Chanting, “Wonder of wonders, endlessly is He!”
Creation knows not how to remain mute,
Chasing His praise with relentless pursuit,
Proffering Him for all to plainly see,
Extracting praise from the depths of the earth.
