Luke 2:7

Abba,

Religion reduces life with You
to a series of rules and expectations.

That manner of life—
only finds emptiness.

Rules, without relationships,
only embitter with their demands.

Abba, You are not after religion—
with empty and unfulfilled desire.

You seek something more—
much more.

You are God of all things—
You are the High King of Creation—

And yet You still seek
relationship and connection.

Not for your own lack of need—
For—You have none.

But out of the fullness of Yourself
Your love seeks avenue.

It wants to be given away—
expressed in selfless abandon.

Love fosters intimacy
In fact, it is the foundation of it.

Relationship begins with connection—
rules and expectations follow.

They grow as the fruit, not the root
of the relationship flourishing to life.

Rooted in connection—
expectation becomes a joy—

the means by which  intimacy
is strengthened and deepened.

Expectation shaping connection?
That’s religion

Reject such

Connection shaping expectation?
That’s relationship.

Yes.  YES.  YES!
