Psalm 139:1-3
139
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.  (Psalm 139:title–3, ESV)

Abba,

You search me.

You know me.

Thank you for being an unchanging God. (Hebrews 13:8)

Thank you for being a God of truth (John 14:6)

You are a God of unwavering character.

You are a God of unshifting nature.

You are a God of unyielding consistency.

And yet…

You are as intimate and personal…

And different…

In Your relationships with us

As unique

As the endless array of snowflakes.

As much as I hate to admit it, because I should know better, I do think that sometimes I viewed You engaging in the same way with each of us as Your children. And yet, that is not true. I do not engage with my children in all the same way. I do not interact with them the same. Their needs are different. Their personalities are different. So why would I think it would be any different with You and Your children?

There is something very intimate and special in realizing that You interact with me in our own unique way. No, Your truth and Your character do not change, but your relationship to me is as unique as the stars in the heavens above.

Thank You, Abba. Thank you for being unique to me. Unique for me. Thank you for loving me intimately and not just uniformly.
